Description
We use high-density fiberboard (HDF) for the top layers of our signs for several reasons. One of the main advantages of HDF over medium-density fiberboard (MDF) or even plywood is its moisture resistance. This is not to say that HDF is totally waterproof, though. High-density fiberboard is moisture resistant, but not waterproof. Another advantage of using HDF is its material density. HDF has a density higher than that of MDF, particle board and even many hardwoods. This gives the advantage of being more impact resistant than other options. This also allows us to laser cut items with more intricacy and detail, without as much risk of the piece breaking.
